The Houston rapper built his name inside Michael “5000” Watts’ Swishahouse operation, talking his way from promotions work into the booth itself.

Come and Take It Memorial Golf Tournament

This beloved annual tournament honors the memory of Lt. Col. Kenneth McGinty, Lt. Col. Robert Scheske, and J.R. Ryan, and benefits the Tommy Chenault and Kenny McGinty Scholarships. Teams of two will compete for prizes: $600 for 1st place, $400 for 2nd, $300 for 3rd, and $200 for 4th. The tournament is limited to the first 36 teams registered.

Saturday Night: David Farias

Some musicians choose their instrument. David Farias grew up inside his. Raised in San Antonio as part of a family act, he started playing accordion as a child alongside his brothers, first as Los Hermanos Farias, then under the name that would define Tejano music for a generation, La Tropa F. The band’s sound, built on the interplay of accordion and bajo sexto that defines conjunto music, carried them to a Tejano Music Award for Best Album of the Year in 1993, cementing Farias as part of one of the genre’s defining family dynasties.
